Speaker Meeting – Tiffany Watson, FNP

Tiffany has a graduate degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts and started at Team Health Care Clinic in January 2017.  The clinic is a multispecialty wellness clinic. They work together in each of their specialties to help address the whole person. For example, when a patient presents with fatigue, they address blood chemistry, nutrition, neurology. They have different treatment modalities that they use for diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, etc. They always address the whole person though because if they only address the brain or only address the gut, they have found that their patients do not achieve as good of results as when they address the gut, brain, and blood chemistry altogether. This will also be their approach when treating Lyme’s Disease. Especially since Lyme’s disease can present with multisystem symptoms.

Tiffany has the opportunity to attend the ILADS Conference and is now putting together their treatment plans for addressing patients with Lymes. All patients are different and treatment must be tailored to each specific patient, but the whole person must be addressed and treated and not just the complaint the patient presents with. Often times, the patients do not even realize there are other things going on until we do our workup and review our findings with them.
