Dr. Thatcher: “Tick Borne Illness Boot Camp”

Dr. Thatcher hails from New York, Long Island region, and he attended NYU for undergraduate training and traveled to St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies for medical school.He completed his clinical rotations in New York and New Jersey and attended Maimonides Medical Center for two years of preliminary surgery and JFK Medical Center for Family Medicine residencies.

He maintains a special interest in tick-borne disease from growing up in a Lyme endemic region of Long Island, New York, as well as personal and professional experiences in New York and New Jersey.

Dr. Thatcher worked in the Carolinas as a hospitalist since graduating residency and joined ILADS in 2015, honing his skills as a Lyme literate physician over the past 9 years in preparation for his new role in the Northwoods.

Dr. Thatcher enjoys outdoor activities with his family and watching or coaching his children in sports. He is an avid baseball fan. He looks forward to exploring the Northwoods over the next several years.
